Ferrara: «It was emotional like always»

Ciro Ferrara has experienced the exhibition match at Villar Perosa wearing different roles but one factor he holds is common in all the times he has been to the Agnelli home: «It was emotional like always. I was here as a player, as the person responsible for the youth sector and now as coach. It is an important tradition which we want to keep alive for many years in the future».Notwithstanding the fact that Juventus A vs Juventus B was an exhibition match in honour of tradition, the Juventus coach is determined to win every single encounter. This is reflected in his comments at the end of the game. «We did not start well and in fact conceded a goal. We committed a few mistakes which are understandable at this time of the year. In the second half we played better and controlled the match. We must work to make sure that we are ready. I would like to compliment Pessotto, Castagnini and Bruni for the great work they are doing».One of the players followed closely by the supporters present in an attempt to obtain an autograph was Diego, who is currently on the road to recovery: «I hope we will soon Diego on the field. He is recovering from a problem he encountered during the training camp and hopefully he will soon be able to join the team».Twelve days more and the curtain goes up on the Serie A: «We want to start the championship. In the meantime we will play a few very exciting friendlies. At this point in time we are playing very much and this is what we wanted but we hope to be close to the ideal condition by the beginning of the Serie A».Finally a comment about John Elkann’s words of praise: « I am happy and grateful after Elkann’s comments because it is an ulterior stimulus and a show of faith in me from a person who I hold to be very important».

JUVE A vs JUVE B 3-1

An exhibition of class and talent in the name of tradition

The match between Juventus A and Juventus B at Villar Perosa is a tradition which has been kept alive for many years. The exhibition match held this year has lived up to its name bringing to the attention of the public great class and talent notwitstanding the many absent players.First and foremost it showed that the project of Juventus with regards to the bringing up of young talent is more then successful. Ferrara who had to deal with a number of absences (12 internationals and players on the road to recovery) borrowed a number of young stars from Luciano Bruni, who’s team on the other hand showed great personality and a strong will to do well.It was Bruni’s team to open the score on the 2nd minute thanks to an excellent Libertazzi who lobbed the ball over Chimenti. The senior squad responded on the 18th minute thanks to Trezeguet with the first half ending in a 1-1 draw. The second half saw Amauri putting the senior squad ahead with a goal on the 50th minute and it was “borrowed” De Paola who rounded up the score to 3-1 to the pain of his usual coach. The referee was forced to end the match 4 minutes ahead of time due to a friendly invasion of the field by the supporters present.

Juventus Will Conduct No More Transfers - Jean Claude Blanc

After a promising summer both on and off the pitch, Juventus have announced that they will not be conducting any further transfer business before the current window closes. While their performances on the pitch have not been without a few small set-backs, their transfer negotiations have been perceived as good enough to challenge Inter for the scudetto.
"Juve's market is closed, both coming in and going out," general director Jean-Claude Blanc told Il Corriere dello Sport.
"The pitch will be where the verdicts [on its success] are given. The summer party will be over in a few days, the real football begins on August 23."
Juventus begin the season with a home game against Chievo, which previously unwanted midfielder Christian Poulsen may now feature in following the sale of Cristiano Zanetti. When Blanc was quizzed about Poulsen's future, he praised the Dane's mentality.
"He has joined the squad and will show everyone that he was right, in that the negative assessment of him was wrong.

"It [the sale of Zanetti] was simply a transfer to make ends meet," the director added.
With additions such as Diego and Felipe Melo, the Bianconeri fans are deservedly excited about the new season, but Blanc warns that there is a difficult road ahead of Juventus if they are to win the title.
"I have seen that the confidence of the fans has grown because we have made some significant investments. However, it will be on the pitch where we find out if we will be competitive with Inter. The difference will be the amount of work and commitment.
"I don't think that the scudetto will be between two teams, but many will fight until the end and there will be difficulties every Sunday."

Next Month I Will Get My Italian Passport - Juventus Star Amauri

It seems more and more likely that Juventus star Amauri will soon be seen wearing the Azzurri's shirt. The Brazilian-born striker is close to getting his Italian passport, which will allow him by law to be called up by Italy, since he has never made an appearance for the Seleçao."If everything goes well, next month I should receive my Italian passport," the 29-year-old said to Sky Sport 24. "I am awaiting the last documents to come in from Brazil."Will I get called up by Italy? As soon as I become an Italian, I will be able to talk about my eventual future with the national team."

Amauri has always said he wants to play for Italy to repay the country for bringing him success as a footballer. He was signed by Parma in 2001, but did not make a single appearance for the club as he was soon loaned out to Napoli. After unmemorable stints at Piacenza, Empoli, and Messina, he broke through at Chievo, and was eventually signed by Palermo. His impressive performances with the Rosanero earned him a prestigious move to Juventus last summer.

Juventus Transfer Campaign Is Finished - John Elkann

Today Juventus played their traditional pre-season friendly against the Primavera youth team at Villar Perosa. Present at the match was vice-president and shareholder John Elkann, who talked about the team's current situation.

"This Juventus team must show on the pitch that they are a team that can aim for the top, after making some great purchases," he said to journalists. "I'm not only referring to the new arrivals, but also to the older players, like [David] Trezeguet for example."The transfer campaign? It's closed, we are not buying any more players."Asked if there was still a gap dividing them from Italian champions Inter, Elkann said (referring to the Nerazzurri's 2-1 defeat in the Italian Supercup against Lazio): "The gap from Inter? Ask Lazio."In any case, our objective is to continue doing well. We have this project which starts with [coach Ciro] Ferrara and we want to bring it forward."On new signing Diego, he commented: "He's a player who has shown over the course of some years that he's a champion, not just in this part of the season with Juventus."As for [Claudio] Marchisio's call up to the Italian national team, his presence and that of several other Bianconeri players with the national team makes us very proud.

Cristiano Zanetti Wanted To Leave Juventus - Sporting Director Alessio Secco

Juventus’ decision to sell Cristiano Zanetti for around €2 million to Fiorentina has come in for criticism from a number of angles, however, the Old Lady have moved to defend their decision.
The Bianconeri had been intending to sell Christian Poulsen, but coach Ciro Ferrara has now confirmed that the Dane will stay.
In an effort to clear some of the confusion, sporting director Alessio Secco has claimed that Zanetti wanted to leave Juventus.

"[The sale] was necessary," Secco told Tuttosport. "It was a numerical necessity to sell a midfielder - the opportunity to sell Zanetti came up and we took it. It was also the last chance to sell him, as he could have left for nothing at the end of the season.
"We have many midfielders: Felipe Melo; [Claudio] Marchisio; [Mauro] Camoranesi; Poulsen; Tiago; and [Mohamed] Sissoko when he returns [from injury]. It was also necessary from an economic point of view to sell and have a smaller wage bill.
"It was [Zanetti] who asked for a transfer, and we will not keep anyone who is not 100 per cent committed to staying," Secco added.

The sporting director also commented on Juventus' future transfer plans, insisting that there is no need to strengthen the full-back positions after it was suggested that they needed improving.
"I see the opposite," he declared. "[Cristian] Molinaro and [Paolo] De Ceglie only need to recover their fitness. [Jonathan] Zebina is an important player. And then there is [Martin] Caceres: he can play on the right, the left or in the middle."

Juventus youngster Marchisio: Inter Milan stronger after Ibrahimovic sale

Juventus
midfielder Claudio Marchisio has dismissed Inter Milan's Super Cup defeat.

He said: "A defeat in the Super Cup means nothing, Inter are still the super favourites for the Scudetto.

"Despite Zlatan Ibrahimovic's departure (to Barcelona), Inter's squad is now stronger. I think of players like Milito, Eto'o, Lucio, Thiago Motta. It is much stronger than last year, but we will try at Juve."

One Defeat Won’t Knock Our Confidence – Juventus Coach Ciro Ferrara

Following Juventus’s recent 4-1 collapse at the hands of Villarreal, coach Ciro Ferrara has refused to get downbeat as he looks to stay positive ahead of the new season.

With just 12 days to go until their Serie A curtain raiser against Chievo Verona, Ferrara spoke positively about the Bianconeri’s pre-season preparations in an interview with Datasport.

“Our programme has been followed with the utmost concentration and attention. We certainly won’t let one bad result knock our confidence,” he declared.

“We are trying to build a balanced Juve this year. The squad will need to carry on for the long haul in order to reach the important objectives. Those objectives will remain the same, even after a heavy defeat.
