Ferrara: «A fair draw. We emerge with honour»

After having broken the jinx of the Trofeo Tim, it is now the Trofeo Berlusconi to become an unlucky trophy. After years of success, Juventus leave the trophy to Milan for the 6th consecutive time. Ciro Ferrara is not thinking of the trophy but of the team’s condition six days before the start of the championship and of the fact that even the match at the Meazza left useful indications: «We came here to win, it’s a pity we lost after penalties. The result at the end of the 90 minutes was a fair one and we emerge with honour. I am happy to have back an important player like Diego especially since it was only his second match. He has great qualities, he is clever at losing his markers, has great technique and physically strong even if he was not 100% fit today. Tonight, also due to the heat, we were a bit too long but we held well. I think it is fine like this».

Juventus Still Waiting On Fenerbahce Offer For Zdenek Grygera

While Juventus are weighing up a move for Wolfsburg's Cristian Zaccardo, voices around the club suggest that Zdenek Grygera must leave before the signing can be made, however, that is proving a little complicated, as Fenerbahce, who have closely been associated with the Czech international, are yet to make a bid.

The Bianconeri were expecting to receive an offer of €5 million from the Turkish club over the weekend, according to Tuttomercatoweb.com.

However, no offer was forthcoming, although the Bianconeri hierarchy are said to have been given assurances that a move will soon be made. Before swooping for Grygera, Fener are thought to be trying to offload Brazilian centre-back Edu Dracena in order to lower their wage bill.

The problem of salaries at Fenerbahce has risen over the weekend due to Diego Lugano choosing to sign a new contract with the club, and their move for Grygera has thus been put on hold until Dracena is sold.

Juventus will want a quick resolution, as time is starting to run short for such a complex series of transfers to occur before the transfer window closes.

Juventus Must Try To Win Everything - Amauri

Juventus forward Amauri is eagerly anticipating his Italian passport, which will allow him to appear for the country's national side, but the Brazilian-born striker is focusing his immediate attentions on the Old Lady, despite admitting that he would feel privileged to play for the Azzurri.

"National coach [Marcello] Lippi has said that when I become Italian, he will take me into consideration," Amauri told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "This is a great honour for me."

Meanwhile, the striker remains concentrated on the Bianconeri's upcoming campaign.

"I'm just a Juventus player. I'm happy, I'm doing well and the team is doing well," he asserted. "We have prepared well and we are ready to take on the winning mentality that the coach [Ciro Ferrara] reminds us of every day.

"Ferrara was clear immediately. He told us that we had to win at Villar Perosa, against the Primavera [youth squad]. It doesn't matter who is in front of you, you are Juventus and you must win."

Amauri also commented on Inter, insisting that the gap between the Beneamata and Juventus has been narrowed after an impressive transfer campaign.

"[Inter are] strong, even without a player like [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic. But we have decreased the gap," he explained.

"A lot of quality has arrived [at Juventus] with players like Diego, [Felipe] Melo and [Fabio] Cannavaro. We can aim at the Scudetto and the Champions League - we have to try and win everything," he concluded.
