Ferrara demands Berlusconi win

Juventus boss Ciro Ferrara targets another victory over Milan in Monday’s Trofeo Berlusconi. “Taking part is not enough.”

The Bianconeri are fresh from winning their first ever Trofeo TIM, a mini-tournament of 45-minute games that saw them beat Inter on penalties and the Rossoneri 2-0.

This is another traditional pre-season test at San Siro, albeit one with a ‘curse’ attached, as rumour has it the team that wins will go on to lose the Scudetto.

“This is a game it is always best to win, as with all friendlies, because that has to be our approach,” said Ferrara.

“Taking part is not enough, we must always win and this is why we are not prioritising certain competitions. We want to battle to the end on all fronts.”

Amauri pounced on a late Nelson Rivas error to secure the 1-1 draw with Inter on Friday night, going on to win on penalties.

“Inter proved, if it was still needed, that they are sill a very strong side and they set the bar for those who follow.

“Milan had several problems in pre-season. I am certain they will get back on track and soon we will see a different team. After all, they are eager to impress their own fans and President, but so are we.”

Juventus will make their Serie A debut next Sunday against Chievo in Turin.

“It is good to work in a climate of enthusiasm, but we must also keep our feet on the ground. We know that we must work hard and improve some things.”

Juventus Join In The Hunt For Lazio’s Lorenzo De Silvestri

According to the latest reports from Tuttosport, Juventus have laid eyes on Fiorentina and Milan target Lorenzo De Silvestri. With the Lazio full-back desperately searching for a way out of the capital, it seems the Turin giants could be preparing to sweep him from under their rival’s noses as they look to snatch a good deal.

Given the boy from Monteverde is currently out for at least a month with a recent knee injury, Juventus might look to make an immediate swoop for the Italian who is currently valued at €8m by Claudio Lotito.

Should the deal prove too costly, the Bianconeri are reportedly preparing a welcome

Juventus To Take Wolfsburg's Cristian Zaccardo On Loan

Cristian Zaccardo is eager to leave Wolfsburg to find regular football, after trainer Armin Veh decided that the 27-year-old was no longer needed at the club.

As a result, Juventus are reported to have registered an interest, as they prepare to replace Zdenek Grygera, and are set to launch a bid to take Zaccardo on loan next week, according to mediterraneonline.it..

Having moved to Germany from Palermo last summer, the right-back failed to secure a regular place in the first team under Felix Magath's stewardship. Early signs under Veh do not bode well for Zaccardo, as he has played very little during pre-season for Die Wolfe.

Although the Juventus hierarchy have announced that the Bianconeri are finished in the transfer market this summer, their full-back positions - particularly right-back - remain of concern to Ciro Ferrara.

It was previously thought that Juventus would sign Zaccardo outright, but mediterraneonline.it are reporting that the 27-year-old's personal demands could prove a stumbling block.
