Camoranesi faces fitness battle

Mauro Camoranesi is in a race against time to be fit for Juventus’ first League game of the new season.
The midfielder limped out of Wednesday’s Italian friendly against Switzerland with an ankle problem.
Although tests carried out by the Juventus medical team have ruled out serious injury, the Argentina-born player will have to prove his fitness before Serie A kicks off.
The Old Lady will start their campaign against Chievo in Turin on August 23 as they look to get their hands back on the Scudetto.
Juventus, plagued by over 70 different ailments to players last term, are already struggling on the fitness front.

Momo Sissoko has been ordered to rest given that his foot fracture has yet to properly heal and won’t be available for around another month.

Jonathan Zebina and Sebastian Giovinco are also in the treatment room with an ankle problem and thigh strain respectively.

Sergio Almiron, who is expected to leave Juventus before the transfer window closes, is also suffering with a left thigh problem.
