Juventus may make a new move for Olympique Lyonnais left-back Fabio Grosso if Paolo De Ceglie joins Napoli, according to the Corriere dello Sport.
Grosso had been expected to join Ciro Ferrara’s revolution in Turin earlier in the summer, but a few weeks ago Juventus removed their interest in the player.
Similarly, left-back-searching Napoli had also been favourites to snap up Juve youngster De Ceglie, but all talk of this transfer has died down recently.
However, the Corriere claims that the Partenopei may make a renewed bid for De Ceglie as coach Roberto Donadoni is unhappy with Luigi Vitale.
If this transfer were to go through, this would likely push Juventus back into the market for Grosso, a player who will probably be available for around €5 million following Lyon’s signing of Aly Cissokho from Porto.
Despite Juventus’ impressive pre season, which culminated in the TIM Trophy win last night, the Old Lady have looked very shaky in defence and a left-back in the form of Grosso would certainly please many fans.
